    Default Wireless mouse problem

Basically, earlier today my mouse was playing up. It worked perfectly most of the time, but if I touched the scroll wheel, it messed up and wouldn't move sideways.
Now it's gotten worse. Even when I don't touch the scroll wheel, it still only moves up and down.

Anyone know how to fix it?

These batteries are brand new, only put them in yesterday

Ball. And I don't even have a replacement mouse, my mum threw it out thinking that we wouldn't need it again

Right, I've found the problem now. Y'know those spinny things (that's the technical term) that the wheel rubs against? Well the little thing holding that in place has snapped.
And after a furious battle with the mouse, involving some glue, some small pieces of plastic, some scissors and me falling backwards off of my chair causing the mouse ball to fly into my eye... I've realised that it isn't going to work.

I need a new mouse now

Edit: How do I do that thing where I can control my cursor with the keyboard arrows?
    Nevermind, googled it

Yeah, I got an optical one this morning, I hate ball mice.
And I also ordered a back up optical mouse on ebay last night, £2.99, bargain.

    Not wireless though

+rep for trying to help anyway
