    Default iPhone 3G?

    Hey,

Right I am needing a new phone (this will be around Dec/Jan time) - I am currently on a £15 contract with 3 and its pretty hunky-dory.

However, since I sold my iPod I really do miss it. Now I don't care if you say "dont get the iPhone" because I am pretty set on it now.

    1) Can the iPhone 3G be unlocked yet?
    2) If I bought a 3G from the US, would it work fine over here when unlocked?

There was other stuff but I can't remember lol!

    1) You could try getting it unlock in China Town, they run stuff like that, I tried it.
    2) Yes, it will work fine.

With the phone on O2, do you get unlimited data too? (PAYG)

No one can unlock the iPhone 3G yet (Make it available on other networks) but this is possible with iPhone 2G.

They do. Some guy won an iPhone from a user in the USA. And hes currently using it now, although that is the 1G model.

Mines from america and they work the same as any.

But yeah it's good if you actually use the ammount in the contract. But the PAYG has unlimited wifi for the first year but you must have topped up by £10 every month to use it, but it doesn't charge you.

Yoshi, is your iPhone a 3G or the previous gen? I'm really considering this but the O2 contracts are terrible so its either going to be O2 PAYG or Unlocked?

I need some definitive answers to if it can be unlocked! :]
