I have owned a PS3 and an Xbox 360.

Both were pretty good. I liked the PS3 because I did not have to pay for online services and it had a browser as well. However, I recently sold my PS3 and went for the Xbox 360 because it has in game instant messenging, seemingly more games available, achievements (which help keep the game flowing), and more of my friends at school had it. Whereas when I had the PS3, about 2 or 3 friends from school were on my list which was quite a shame.

So if I had to choose one, I'd go for the Xbox 360. I'm no fanboy or anything, but I've enjoyed my 360 far more than I did with my PS3.

I own neither console so I'm not bias but I have played them both extensively at a friends house. Personally I would say the PS3 for me is a better console. When the PS3 has an exclusive it usually stays exclusive for example I think LBP and MGS4 will for a long time. Many of the 360s top games on the other hand are released later on on the PC, the only game I can say that really intrests me on 360 is viva piniata which is on PC too. I personally find many 360 games overhyped such as Fable 2 and Halo 3. Both consoles to me seem to have a very limited range of games, most of them are based around guns although obviously that isnt the case for all of them. To be honest you shouldn't really listen to anyone, everyone has different views on games (For example I love the wii whereas many hate it), you should go out and play the consoles yourself to give you a better idea and then decide.

I said PS3

I get customers ask me this question all the time and it really does come down to personal opinion. Whichever benefits you'll find better suit you is the console to go for.

I got a PS3 because I've always had Playstations and I prefered the range of games on the PS3 because I'm not into first person shooters. Things like LBP are my cup of tea. Then when I'm not playing games I can watch blu-rays on a HDTV. A 360 wouldn't be suited to me because I'm not into having people shouting at me down a headset whilst blowing stuff up in Gow2.
