    Default cPanel WebDisk

Apart from being really busy lately, the main reason I still havn't got my fansite up and running is because the WebDisk on my cPanel won't work. I've asked my hosting provider for help but he doesn't know anything about WebDisk.

I'm using Windows Vista and have installed an update that is supposidly required but it made no difference. I also tried accessing the WebDisk from a Windows XP computer but the problem still exists. What actually happens, is that it says it can not open and make sure certain ports are allowed through the Firewall. I've done this as far as I can tell so I'm still stuck .

Does anyone have any ideas to fix the problem or any alternatives to WebDisk in order to upload multiple files similtaeneously? I'm afraid I can't progress any further if I can't resolve this.

    Thanks.

FTP is the best alternative to this (in my opinion, it's better than this). Here's some instructions (written by me) to set up an ftp connection to a cpanel account without any software:

    Click Start > My Computer

In the bar at the very top of the window with a picture of a computer then and arrow, then "My Computer" then another arrow, click halfway along this bar once and type: ftp://[email protected] (entering the cpanel username and yourdomain where it should be. You will then be prompted for your password, enter your cPanel password and press OK. Then it will show all your cpanel files/folders like folders on your computer. Go to the folder called "public_html". You can now see and manage all the files/folders on your website. You can drag and drop/copy and paste files and folders across.
    Kind Regards,

    Guy

I never use FTP, I use frontpage extensions.. Meh, moan at me for publishing my documents using frontpage, but it's a WYSIWYG that publishes documents faster than FTP.
