Question What i'd need for a custom build.. +REP

Okay so it may be a few years until i need a new computer but what would i need to build it. I know i'd need things like case, psu, ram, processor, motherboard, fans, dvd drive, hard drive, graphics card, OS..

But i'm sure i'm missing something, I'm looking for a very good spec system for gaming and multi tasking big programs. I wouldn't really want to spend more than £650

I'm sure there are places I could pick up parts half the price of most retailers.

What am i missing from that list and where do you think I could pick up the parts the cheapest.. also what are the best hardware options. I tend to go with an nvidia geforce 8800 or 9800 (depending on the price at the time of purchase or i'll just use my current 8500GT)

    +rep to all good answers.

You have listed all that you need, but there is no point in recommending parts now if you don't plan on getting it for a while lol.

I'd get that, but change 3 of the parts to Mobo: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145751 HDD: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143288 and GPU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152939

I went with 9800 cause in his post he said 8800 or 9800

HDD really depends on how much space he'd actually use

your mobo isn't SLI but if he doesn't plan on adding another card fine

The parts someone listed would cover you.
But could I suggest a Mobo with WiFi built in? It makes life easier.
Don't forget you need cooling (water or air) as well as those parts, GPU's and CPU's get HOT.
i've been here for over 8 years and i don't know why

The CPUs listed come with a stock cooler which is fine for running at stock speed. GPU comes with a cooler built in. Case comes with fans. More will help, but aren't necessary.

I would actually recommend going to www.arbico.co.uk , i got mine from there for £350 and the best bits are , 2 x amd 64 2g processor, 500gb hdd and a ati hd 512mb graphics card and that was pretty much very cheap to say the case is good, if you want a gaming one i would recommend going to arbico and looking at performance, mine was pretty cheap and it has good parts
