Hey guys.
Just signed up so I can participate in this section! I used to play Habbo but no longer do. Decided to join a virtual airline (Fly UK) a few months ago after using FS for about a year or two now.
Anyway, I plan on staying active in this section!
A few hours ago, I flew to Princess Juliana Intl airport (ICAO: TNCM / IATA: SXM) with an Airbus A380 (freeware pah - plan on getting Wilco A380 soon). No A380 has landed at the notoriously short runway before at TNCM, so I guess my flight was a maiden one right.Anyhoo, got a few snaps of my approach and landing. For those who don't know, TNCM has a single runway (09/27) which is approximately 8000ft long - just capable of having heavy jets landing there. As it is short, it requires a slow and low approach over a stretch of water. Around the airport is Maho Beach, which is popular amongst tourists who travel there to see the jets (such as American Airlines 757s and KLM 747s) up close! There is no ILS equipment operating at TNCM, only a VOR station with DME. The approach itself mainly relies on visual awareness and making sure you can follow the approach plate!
On approach, the main landing gears of a heavy jet should cross the threshold at or slightly above 35ft agl, but there is a margin depending on the meterological conditions.
Here are the snaps of my approach and landing at TNCM!
Taken from inside of the perimeter fence - on the infamous low approach.
Taken from Maho Beach - close to touchdown.
Taken from outside of the perimeter fence - A380 flaring after smooth landing.
Hoped you enjoyed the shots!
Thanks.

Hi,
I always see the threads from this forum and decided it would be fun to start/try Flight Sim. I have a few questions:
1. If your flight is like, 9 hours, do you actually have to sit there for 9 hours?
2. How do you know what to fly?
3. Is their a tutorial on how to fly when you start the game?
Thanks
eek.
