Tragic story.
If the train was that close to the crossing then the barriers should have came down early so things like that don't happen, in weather like this as cars can just slide.
I'm an alcoholic student, I troll naked with a parrot on my shoulder call Jeff.
Terrible, but she should have just abandoned the car. Sure, you think you have a minute to get out of there with your car, but it was slippery... the track seems straight so she would have seen the train, why didn't she just get out and run...?
If I was in a car on a train track I'd try and get the car off, but if I saw the train coming towards me I'd leg it.
Ah well, R.I.P.
She may of feared for the lives of the train driver and passengers. It's one option. The other is she didn't wnat her car destroyed, which would be odd...Terrible, but she should have just abandoned the car. Indeed she could have, but if it was slippery and the train was approaching fast then it's going to be obvious she wont get it to budge and should just get out of there. I reckon the latter is probably right, I saw a video on TV where the woman wouldn't leave her car (she was on a train track with the car)... she finally left it and it was smashed to bits.
It says she tried reversing it before it was struck, but that could mean anytime between getting stuck in the barriers and getting hit by the train. Indeed it could be because she wanted to be with her car, but it doesn't sound all that amazingIndeed she could have, but if it was slippery and the train was approaching fast then it's going to be obvious she wont get it to budge and should just get out of there. Hmm that's the other thing, where I used to live in the UK if you were stuck between the barriers you couldn't get out (unless you jumped). So if the barriers are the same there then she wouldn't of got out with her car anyway... and yeah, her car didn't sound great, some old rover...![]()
She might of been trying to move it just a bit out the way of the train but on the tracks still, like on the track next to the approaching train. It's a shame we may never know...
