So if you want your console to be at least half as good as the PS3, you gota pay more than you would for a PS3.

Most people who hate PS3s are just the people who can't afford them or are forced to because their friends can't afford them.
How does an Xbox need wireless? You can connect controllers with a wire, headsets with a wire, internet with a wire. If you want to connect via wireless then you get the other products. Only thing I'll agree about wireless is the adapter, it's over priced ya.

You don't need a cooling fan either.. hardly anyone uses them, I've read reviews and if anything they break your Xbox.

And you don't need Xbox Live to play on an Xbox to play online you do but you pay for what you get and I personally believe XBL is better than PSN, even some PS3 owners have admitted that.

Also, reason I don't have a PS3 is because of the price.. I don't feel it's worth it, I can afford to get one but I don't want too because of the price.. both do the same job, both have pros and cons.

XBL is only better than PSN because it charges
If PSN was to charge i'm sure it would be as good

Why on earth would paying mean more users? In theory, free is better.
So people paying for XBL shows that its obviously has a better online experience.

Could it be argued that xbox 360 established their market long before PS3 hence therefore sales would decline for a console that was released years before a PS3 as people already own it.

    Its like saying,

Ford Fiesta released in 2006 and a competitive car released in 2008, people have already purchased a ford from 2006 - 2008 where as no one had the competitive car. Its release in 08 would prompt a surge in sales for the company so therefore you see a boom in its sales however despite the boom an in the time span of one year more of the competition car is sold then a ford fiesta it appears that the competition car appears to be more popular but looking at total ownership the ford fiesta would probably have a larger percentage.

This is a simply press technique used for creative use of statistics. I would be more interested in seeing the total number of 360's sold against the total for PS3.

Of course sales will decline over the years because you would expect that when a person has purchased a 360 they will be using it for years to come until they seek to purchase a newer model or replacement console.

Just for the record, I own neither. However the majority of people I know own a 360 rather than a PS3.

Another thing that annoys me is that my PS3 can't play PS2 games, whereas my 360 can play my XBox games, another reason why I prefer the 360.

Thats why you should of got the first proper 60GB PS3's that can play PS2 games. I got mine on the first day it came out as I had been waiting for it since my birthday. I dropped it down the stairs when I was moving it down to the big tele after a few months of owning it. So now my PS3 can't play PS2 games cos I think they removed that feature so they could sell it for cheaper.

In conclusion, 360's are just almost identical next generation consoles like PS3's but are more affordable and do everything that you would need them to do. With them being a lot cheaper it has encouraged many more people (mainly children) to get them. But more adults that can afford PS3's would choose to buy PS3's, or just kids with rich parents.

    quite hard to believe that
Most people I know / have heard of have a 360 whilst only 1 person I know has a PS3

Yes your 60Gb can play them but the 40Gb can't and the 80Gb barely can, it's a bit of a rip off paying for a console and not being able to play the previous generation of games on it really, I only like 3 PS2 games that work on my PS3 because Sony are a bunch of cheap little idiots.

Its true that the PS3 has overtaken the X360, in sales, in Europe. But in Japan and America, things are hugely different. It's worth noting that the X360 is still 10 million units ahead and the Wii is a billion units ahead.

Also, Europe is apparently the biggest gaming market somehow... only slightly bigger than the U.S
