Not really, 27/42 is 65%, not far off 70%, and just because schools are suituated in Cambridge shouldn't automatically give them harder grade boundries.

Maybe not but then why do the schools here only allow students who are either "Clever" or "Rich" ?

Higher Education maybe, but places such as primary and secondary schools surely wouldn't allow only clever or rich students in.

Are you on about portugal or the UK? In the UK, there are league tables in Summer, showing the percentage pass rate of 5A*-C GCSEs (I think there are league tables for everything: KS2 SATS, KS3 SATS, A Levels etc). The higher the percentage pass, the better the school (obviously that would be the logic but not always the case). With this in mind, some schools prefer to bring in the smart kids (as these will boost up the league tables) and the rich kids (because of misconception that they must be smart if they are rich, which isn't always the case, or money can be used on boosting up the league table or both! :p). Hope that answers your question. Just a theory I learnt about in sociology but it makes sense.

As for Science, I did better in Year 10 than Year 11. I think it's a case of getting used to exams, which made me more prepared in Year 11. I did AQA though so may be different experience for you. Good luck
