It is a reason to vote for him? 40 years ago the suituation in America was much different - Black people couldn't sit at a certain places on a bus let alone become president. By Obama being elected it's a big leap forward - hence why everyone keeps saying it's history in the making. People wern't this hyped when Bush or Clinton became president.

And he has a right to be nervous, he's been waiting for this day for about two years.

entrance is right, voting for someone because they're black isn't making a leap forward, it's like not voting for someone because they're black: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_discrimination

I'm not saying it's right, but they're people out there that have voted for him for that reason.

THERE ARE JUST AS MANY IF NOT MORE PEOPLE WHO VOTED AGAINST BARACK OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK THAN FOR HIM BECAUSE HE IS BLACK.

the problem with your logic is that you think he isnt protected. the president of the united states is the most protected person on earth, and barack obama if anything is even more protected. there's secret service covering a radius of 2 miles everywhere he goes. one angry racist cant even get close to him.

well if one did become prime minister, then it shows that society has gradually accepted that race to be in power of the country. of course they'll always be people against it, but as RedStratocas said, they'd be heavily protected. that protection may not always suffice and problems still may get through, but tbh its unlikely as they've probably learnt from past mistakes.
