Default Just ordered an iPhone. +Rep

I've just bought an iPhone 2g for £160, it is unlocked for all networks except 3 etc. It's been used, but in good condition.
I need to know a few answers to questions...

What do i need to do when i get the iPhone? ( Change settings to what i want? Make sure i can register it to myself etc )
Just put in the sim i want in it and it will work, right?
Can i sync it with my laptop's itunes even though my ipod touch is currently linked? ( I want to put all my paid apps and that onto my iphone )
greg 207 up, 103 downSlang term for a man's penis. Must be in lowercase, it is a common noun.

    omg wth where???

And in answer to your questions, yes you can sync it with your laptops iTunes and copy all your paid/free apps on the iPhone. I'm not sure about restoring it because I don't know if that will return it to a locked state so you will have to seek further advice on that. Doesn't matter if you register or not tbh.

I bought it off ebay, the seller was selling it due to faults the iphone not picking up his microphone, and because there is scratches on the back.
I'm sure i can get some help off the market down town or something to help me get my sim in or w,e

You could have just been screwed the seller know's exactly what's wrong with it, He's just not listing it all because it could be quite expensive to fix, I'd say the problem is much more in dept than that

Its 2g, so it's not expensive like the 3g.
My purchases are protected with paypal anyway, right?

Your purchases are protected but the item is as described, faulty, so your not really unless the fault has nothing to do with what was described.

How is it 2G if it's not 3G? This is seriously confusing me.

The reason the current iPhone is called the iPhone 3G is because it uses the 'Third Generation' network unlike the first iPhone which is simply just 'iPhone'.

The 2G iPhone is therefore the 3G iPhone as the 2G is for second generation iPhone, which uses the third generation network.

Yes, you are correct. As far as I'm aware there is no second generation network in existence?
