dont get pugs. my girlfriend has 5 pugs at her house, and i dont know if they cant be trained or they just weren't, but they will bark at absolutely anything, it takes them forever to calm down when they get excited over simple things(whenever i go over they'll bark and run around for 15 minutes) and they always want to to jump on you.

Yes the Basset Hound is the droopy eyed ones, they are very sweet and friendly breed of dogs.
