    As in the Time Machine external hard drive icon? I just went into Finder, then the menubar, Finder >> Preferences then untick external hard drives under the icons to show on desktop.

    @hoteluser I used GeekTool. Good thread on MacRumours for it, search 'site:forum.macrumors.com geektool scripts' in google. music player is bowtie theme 'itunes grid 64px. search in google 'site:macthemes2.net 64px itunes grid'

    @ kyle I got it for Christmas 2007 because my Dad was a fail before that but for once he was financially sound and therefor treated me to my biggest and best christmas present
    That went fast.

    Hmm dont really wanna remove all external disc's but hey i will try it see how it goes.

    Right, disable the showing of external HD's on your desktop, then hold down option (alt) + CMD and drag the drives from the Sidebar in finder onto the desktop to create an alias for them. to remove the alias arrow, search 'remove alias arrow OS X' in google
    That went fast.
