the oceanic 6 are 3 years ahead of present day island so even though we think jin is discovered alive at the same point the sun is about to shoot ben, by that time locke has come of the island (presumabley already found jin), told ben about what has happened and this is how he knows.

Kinda, technically Jin was discovered 16 years or so before even the losties landed on the island. However .. the losties are jumping around in time.

So this means that where as three years have passed for the oceanic 6 only a few days have passed for the rest of the losties on the island.

I think it will take a few episodes to get back. Then they will probably deal with the Widmore story. They will probably learn more about the island from Richard once the Oceanic 6 get back. Remember Ben can't go back to the island. We will probably learn more about Jacob.

Last season I wasn't sure how it was gna all end, but now I can see them slowly wrapping it all up.
