oh and album sales are in a mess as for the first time ever the other week no album sold a 6 digit number worldwide, but they are improving, e.g. lilys album sold over 100k last week in the uk which is massive, although i know that's kinda like an anomaly right now

yeah and what's the likelihood that every single artist in the US is going to sell 2-3million downloads of one single song? not likely and even then the label would make hardly anything in comparison to having 2-3million album sales. you could sell a million downloads and the label would probably make only $500k, and then take away promotion costs for advertisement, video budget etc.

you sell a million albums and they're making $6-8+ a copy, that's at least $6-8+ million in their pocket.

..and i said album sales were decreasing? hence my point, no?
