    Tbh if there was to be a alternative, it would need ALOT of promotion, People will just result to coming back here, its something they know, if this forum was to instantly re-directed to a new forum, the place be much more active, non habbo users would join, and a mass community would begin.

    Having the mean attitudes people put across (me too) is good, it whats make people who they are, from noobs to gods.

    If they really want help, they will have to accept the ********, the insults, the critizm, else they should just go back to Habbo and chatup Callie.

    True it would need allot of hard work but what worth doing doesn’t? It would also need to be managed by a group of people (a committee if you like) not just one or two people that’s where it begins to go wrong.

    No not really, yeah there’s nothing wrong with telling someone what they have made is rubbish but when you don't give them any help at all then it’s just being a ****, it seems at times people are just looking for some reason to hide behind for acting like a **** towards people who they see as under them in their area of expertise, not everyone but some. So if you say people would have to take whatever people say, then some people will take advantage of that.

    I mean the people who post scripts etc, which are total crap and they've just been rushed

    "Script 2 show people logged in, comments"

    <?php
    $d="$x welcome 2 duh system ".$b;
    ?>

    "Its total ****" - wrong

    "Its total ****, however if you where to not use double quotes, you dont need to use a string operator to connect the last, for example you could of done

    $d = "$x welcome 2 duh system $b";

    or using single quotes & string operator
    $d = $x . ' welcome 2 duh system ' . $b;

    or again using double quotes and string operator

    $d = $x . " welcome 2 duh system " . $b;

    Read more on php.net, etc."

    I believe that's the correct way but I have to admit i do sometimes just go "Its ****, fail, lose" but thats only if they're being cocky *****.

    It should be ran like a business if a new forum was to pop-up. Say, if someone was to register it as a limited company, the people who build it have an equal share in the business, any arguments that cant be resolved there can be a board vote and a decision can be made.

    Of course the board would be odd, so votes aren't equal and if someone isn't happy about someones role the board can vote to kick them off.

    As it would be non-profit (could be a charitable ltd business) say, all advertisements on the site go to a the server costs and a charity organization, which could give promotion to the site also.

    I dont think a D&D forum should be started up in the sole purpose to gain capital, I think it should be started up for a wide audience of new, amauture and old school developers.

    I couldn't of put it better myself, if your only purpose for a site like that is to gain money then your doomed from the start, I think a proper community ran like that could go along way

    Yeah any atemps would have to be thought out and planned very well, aswell as that it would need the full support of whats left of the current community here.

    Thats just a failed attempt to recreate "Habbox"

    of course that would fail.

    I think my method of a charitable private limited company would work. With the right people on the board and the right promotion techniques, it would succeed beyond habbox and also give money to a good cause which can be changed every month which in turn gives promotion.

    Might even get the global peace prize before bill does.

    most of habbox is the technology section, so i think if we all leave to this one site... it may take a MASSIVE plundge on this site...

    but I say lets go for it.

    edit above: I'm very good with SEO and that sort of stuff, so it won't be that hard if I can get the right position

    edit again: If not I'd still help I hate habbox, but I cannot get off it like most people.

    If i was to promote it, id advertise it globally using google, Id put money in to get it started but not really look for money out.

    Id rather say "Look, Im part of this massive globally known website which donates to charities" than "I own this ****** forum using phpBB which gains no money, i just lose money"

    and if it does eventually bring a big income, yes profits could be split but the idea of going into it because of that is stupid and ignorant.

    if it's going to charity, it'll be better... don't split profit just charity it, it'll be so much better.

    we'd split the money up into 4 different pies for 4 different places.. etc..

    such as willian hospice, they've lost 75% of there funding. we could relaly help them
