They didn't make a movie based on Dragon Ball Z, they made a movie based on Dragon Ball. Yes, there is huge difference between both series. Although no one will be able to tell because they screwed up the plot so much. Dialogue from the trailer looks terrible, and the actor playing Goku is so bland and such a bad choice. He acts the opposite of how Goku should. Nothing about this movie looks good, except some of the female actresses who look pretty sexy. Nevertheless, it's going to be absolutely rubbish, but I'll go see it anyway... for a laugh.

In the end, it all boils down to one thing: this movie appeals to nobody. It was made for no one. People who aren't familiar with the Dragon Ball story at all will be so flabbergasted by what's happening that they will likely tell everyone they know that it's one of the worst movies they've ever seen. Fans who do know what the general story is will be furious at just how unbelievably badly they screwed this entire thing up. Kids are used to better writing than this in their weekday afternoon cartoons (although you may run into a kid who has never actually seen a movie before, and they might dig it until you show them another movie). It's a clunky, tiresome, badly executed, horribly written pile of shame that deserves no quarter. In short, it's as bad as the fans said it would be.

Pros: Might be fun when you're hammered and surrounded by friends. Or suicidal, and need something to push you over the edge.

Big dragonball fan. Not wasting any money in suppourting this not even gonna download it.

Off the top of my head. (Wont make sense if your not familuar with the series)

- Movie is based on DB but they mention saiyans etc which was in Z
- No krillin, Puar, Oolong, Has yamcha tho.
- Shenlong dosent talk when summoned
- Acting is very bad
- Goku is in school.. Hate when they try to americanise movies.

Save your money people. dont even go see if for a laugh. They said if it does well they will make a sequel.. so if it dosent do well then no sequel Then they dont ruin dragonball for me.

The inevitable truth is though... it most probably will do well.

What surprises me is that Akira Toriyama actually gave them permission to make this movie... and he's actually backing it! In an interview with Tite Kubo (creator of Bleach) he was aksed what his "dream cast would be for a live action Bleach movie" and his reply was "If it were possible to do Bleach as a live action movie, then I wouldn't have drawn the manga. I want to draw something that can only be done as manga." He knows whats right!

You can hope, but theres no way that'll ever happen. Dragon Ball was never meant for live action, and especially Hollywood.

it is a let down, shame aswell wish they had gone down the same path as advent children. would have liked a movie like that.. o well.
