I had this problem back when I was a moderator. I think it was something to do with VIP subscription ending and then the server reverts you to the user group that you were previously?

Yeah it is when someone removes your permissions from another usergroup. The correct way is to remove VIP then remove perms then re-add the vip so it wont revert.
