Just so you know... I never once said I disliked FMA, so theres no need to be surprised.I'm actually currently downloading the first series, but my download speed has been cut so it's taking ages.

Cool cant wait for it.
lol Spent 10 mins going *** abotu the overlapping texts >.> works fine with cccp anyway was good.
Yeah, overlapping text is well annoying. Shinsen will probably drop the series as well since it's licensed. They seem to have a reputation for doing that. I'd say download the gSS subs. Eclipse are also subbing the series but aparrently their translation is off and their word arrangement could be better. Damn... I'm going to need to buy myself an external hard drive. Downloading like five series in HD a week is going to take up quite a bit of space.
On April 9th, TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting Station) will be streaming subbed episodes 4 days after each airing. So the best translations will be out on April 9th.
I thought the 1st episode was epic, though, I was a little down that the sparkles weren't pink. Grr! I really do like the opening intro.

The translation is a lot better in fansubs than it is in official subs, so the best translations are already out. The script is Americanized and the honorific's are left out in official subs, among other things.
How sure are you of that? It depends on who translates them. I already seen a lot of translation problems with Shinsen.
The honorifics are not necessary. The company doing the official subs is not funimation or any English branch company. What other things? Episodes won't be edited for content.

It doesn't depend on who translates it, no anime company bothers translating as good as it could be. Fansubs are there for the fans, official subs are just there so companies can make money. They don't care about spot on translations. Just because I said fansubs are better than official subs doesn't mean there aren't mistakes in both. I spotted atleast two mistakes in Shinsen's sub myself, but watch gSS's sub for perfection. Official subs need help with their encoding as well. The subtitles are out of place and timed very poorly on my Ghost in the Shell SAC DVD.How sure are you of that? It depends on who translates them. I already seen a lot of translation problems with Shinsen.

Honorifics are not necessary? Let me quote Del Rey manga here...
"Honorifics can be expressions of respect or endearment. In the context of manga and anime, honorifics give insight into the nature of the relationship between characters. Many translations into English leave out these important honorifics, and therefore distort the 'feel' of the original Japanese."
Honorifics are essential.
