It doesn't matter if they are behind the desk or not. That isn't part of the job description and when they desk changed into a lounge, the rules changed so that staff don't need to be behind the bar, so I wouldn't start complaining about that as it is pointless.
Not picking on you here, I know this has been said a few times so just quoting yours because it's closest
But yeah the problem with this is that if staff are allowed to be afk as long as they aren't behind the desk, and they don't have to be behind the desk if they don't want to be, that pretty much suggests that staff theoretically don't actually have to do anything other than be a presence and click the screen every 15 minutes. I'm well aware that the idea is that the room's more of a "chill" area, but I think that if staff are to appear to actually have a job and be professional then only time spent behind the bar should really count as time at work, else this loophole can always be used as an excuse. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't inconvenience anyone to have a requirement of a certain amount of time behind desk, and could then be used to quite easily counter any of these arguments.
HxHD Staff are way more active than any other fansite help desks.
Are we not allowed to go the loo and get a drink no more??
Lolz, drop it dudessss
Soooo pointless arguing over nothing, noone's going to win.
Get over it and start waving the white flags.
Keep the panties on now![]()

My policy was not to bother coming in just go go AFK, you come in to do your job, then go AFK if you need to, on Hotel View.
I'd rather have had an empty room than a dead room.

So if we're enforcing rules, which is what a lot of the work is now because people seem to be causing more trouble than before, we must be behind the desk to do this else we aren't "working". Staff have been behind the desk a lot more since this thread was made so there have been some positive response to it. However you can't assume that staff do nothing and are always afk when they aren't behind the desk. Not picking on you here, I know this has been said a few times so just quoting yours because it's closest
