Active and trusted as they have moderator perms in every section to approve posts.

Yeah, someone like Kardan would be ideal.

i always approve posts & i'd say i'm very active when it comes to doing so. but i think its just best to have moderators approving posts as there shouldn't be that many to approve considering how many there are of us. thats in theory though. also, considering now is exam-time and half term (well the end of it now anyway) the activity of some mods will decline. because of this, possibly a temp post approver could be useful to lighten the load, but permanetly, i'd say no.

but it isn't acceptable for people have to wait hours for their posts to be approved. management have to realise that it does put people off - i think it's the only solution because the standard of approving posts like yoshimitsui has confirmed isn't acceptable with hardly any of the (super) moderators pushing their weight.

Yeah when I created this account it took days to get my first 15 posts approved, some posts/threads took days to be approved and its much of an off-put but a nessacary step.

yeah, i do have to agree there. even though some moderators do approve posts, to some extent it does seem that some neglect this, and thus the waiting time for the posts to be approved does increase. so i retract part of my previous post, and say that there should either be a post approver or moderators should be more active when it comes to approving posts - something which should be monitored.

lAscend is away until today i think so you should get a decent answer soon anyway.

When I was new I learnt how 'not' to post by getting flamed, nothing teaches you how to change more than public humiliation! But yeah I understand it stops bots or w.e but meh if I was new to the forum now unless I had loads of friends already on here (which I did not at the time of my registration) I probably would give up or get annoyed having to wait for my posts to be approved
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

That's always good to hear but unless the situation has changed since I left moderators can only approve posts in their own sections, which means your contribution isn't really amounting to much in the grand scheme of things if everyone else isn't chipping in. Smods can approve posts everywhere but they have so much to do it isn't really fair or smart to rely on them.

Imo (and I spose I'm biased cos it was my idea) having a dedicated guy to approve the posts is the most effective way of dealing with the problem. When Ostinato was doing it there were no complaints at all about the system compared to before and after where they seem to be springing up again. It could even be tagged onto one of the moderators who's willing to do it so no more staff have to be hired, just give them limited perms in the other forums. It seems if its left down to the whole team to do it there's a "someone else will do it" mentality and it ends up with no-one doing it; I'm not bashing anyone thats just kinda the way people think.
