AMD yesterday announced the Dragon platform quad-core processor 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. Aimed at gamers and computing enthusiasts, the 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 BE will compete with the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550. AMD boasts that their X4 955 BE is capable of running up to 7GHz under extreme cooling conditions.
Brent Barry, an AMD product manager, said that AMD was able to more than double the CPU's speed during tests. He further added that Liquid Helium was potent enough to cool the [COLOR=blue ! important][COLOR=blue ! important]system[/COLOR][/COLOR] below -240 degree Celsius than Liquid Nitrogen, which manages to cool down till -140 degree Celsius.

However, one can overclock the 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 BE to 3.8GHz safely at home with help of conventional fan-cooling method.
Some hobbyists of LimitTeam_Sigh managed to overclock the 3.2GHz AMD Phenom II X4 955 [COLOR=blue ! important][COLOR=blue ! important]CPU[/COLOR][/COLOR] to 6.7GHz using Liquid Nitrogen cooling and the details are listed at the Ripping.org, the overclocking world database.
Earlier this year, AMD hobbyists overclocked AMD Phenom II X4 940 to 6.5GHz which is also listed at Ripping.org website. Check out the video below.
