Default Getting 2 new graphics cards.....

Well then guys as i'm slowly becoming a gamer, it's time to upgrade my gpu.

I currently have an nvidia 8500gt, but the nvlddmkm error keeps crashing my games so it's time to get new new graphics cards.

Im thinking of buying 2 Radeon HD4830 and crossfiring them and overclocking them. Don't worry my case is plenty cool enough and my psu can easily handel it. The only problemo is im looking to spend around £120 and iv'e found the Hd4830 for £62. I was wondering if this is the best card?

I play quite graphic intense games such as

    -Far cry 2
    - Rainbow 6 vegas 2 (Yes its not graphically advance but it's an amazing game)
    -Fall out 3
    -Hitman (all of them)

and then i play steam games like
    -Css
    -i have the orange box
    - PEGGLE =D
    - Company of heros Gold edition & Opposing fronts

Yes my current gpu can play them all, there just bad Fps and the nvlddmkm error has finally annoyed me so much so im buying some new gpus's.

I dont the 9800gt (yeah its the same price ad the 4830) but the anti analysing isn't a good when you have two of them , the 4830 is better.

    Thanks if you help

Sounds good. Crossfire will increase your gaming's performance by up to 80% with two graphics cards instead of one. Also, along with these new graphics cards, why don't you take this chance to save up for new other components.

How much RAM have you got, etc?

2 4830's would be **** and a waste of money.

    Get a GTS250 or something.

Edit: Actually looking at the benchmarks 2 4830's would outperform a GTX260. So then I think you should go with them. My Mistake.

Do you have a crossfire motherboard?

It's not all about how much RAM the graphics cards have you know. You need to be careful about the cooling, you say your case is plenty cool enough, ATI cards run a lot hotter than Nvidia ones, and you'll be shoving two in, so be careful. You need to remember that Crossfire won't have a huge effect in most games because they aren't optimized for it, unless it's a different story for ATI cards.

What wattage and make/model is your PSU btw?

Also this "nvlddmkm" error that crashes the display driver was fixed long ago in a driver update.

I have the latest driver, still broken, the driver is 185.85 i think or something like that.

Psu wise, i have a 750watt psu, and case i have an antec 900 with 2 added custom fans, so its pretty darn cool.

2 x 512MB 4830's will still give you only 512MB VRAM. They don't stack up. And don't say you're getting the 1GB version, because if you do you're a fool.

You seem pretty sure you want these cards which makes me wonder why you started this thread

Where did you get that from? It's a hardware error that causes that issue, overheating, malfunctioning etc, it's still there and lording it up.

Heh, I used to get it and a driver update fixed it.
