Actually I am from Liverpool, apparently one of the poorest cities in the country and within Europe. I, supporting the Conservative Party has nothing to do with this discussion and I have no idea why you brought that in.

I'm not a sporty person and even if I was, it still wouldn't justify spending billions on some games which most people don't care about and when the NHS and so many other services are under-funded.

I do get it, because if I didn't get it you would of replied to my answer on why the Olympics shouldn't be held, maybe we could turn that statement around in your direction.

We won't personally obviously, the Government will, but eh, that's something completely different, **** knows what they would spend it on.

I'm fed up of having a Scot as our PM now, although I can't stand Cameron, so we're all ******.

Just look at the pole results, it's practically the same as asking, "do you support the Olympics being in this country" and it's an overwhelming yes.

The Olympics will leave a huge legacy for our youngsters, it will encourage them to get off their arses, get exercising, and it wll motivate them into being anything that they want themselves to be.

Your fed up of him because he's scottish? Christ. Labour as a whole is screwed and Lib Dems don't have a hope in hell, so unless you get to like Cameron then your going to have a 'bad' 8 years or whatever the two terms get to.

I have seen no poll results asking whos in support of the Olympics or not, maybe children and teenagers like ourselves will be in support but i'm afraid if you ask any normal taxpayer on the street, who are the electorate, i'm pretty sure the line they take is no.

The Olympics will leave a legacy of adding onto our debt, a potential terrorist attack, major infastruture problems which will occur regardless of any plans to modernise train/road systems - they will experience problems, I can gurantee it.

The other legacy will be a large stadium which will, like most modern architecture, become an ugly blot on the landscape within ten years. Not only that, but the taxpayer will still have to pay to look after this stadium even though the chances are it will not be used at all.

If you want a sporting legacy, how about my other suggestion and a suggestion which makes the most basic of common sense - build more pools/improve sporting facilities. Your acting as if we are heading for a sporting revolution, its in your dreams, it will not happen.

Certain people like sports, certain people don't, i'm pretty sure by 2010 after just under 20 years on this planet, and witness to two Olympics in my memory, I will not all of a sudden pull on my wetsuit and start playing football.

Your living the Olympic fairytale which this government has painted.

I agree with you on this one. I'd rather Liverpool won the carling cup, than england or olympic win anything.

@Browney, possibly players like Jonjo Shelvey, John Bostock etc
Welbeck maybe? I know he'd be young enough.
