Brazil looking good right now. Should be a force in the WC next year.
    Seriously.

1 half and 1 game they excelled in. If anything, I'm a bit disillusioned with the Brazil side I watched. Needed a last minute penalty to beat Egypt and had to come from 2-0 down yesterday to beat USA.

Pretty solid without having to get into second gear most of the time. Deadly from set pieces, a lot of squad depth (many not even at this comp) and the WC is also being played out of Europe. I like their chances.
    Seriously.

Brazil have had a quiet year with their qualifiers going badly but they've picked up some form and seem to be doing pretty well. Their team has changed a bit and they are a force to be reckoned with.

I think this tournament has showed how neither Spain nor Brazil are untouchable. Now teams like USA are having a real go at Brazil and winning 2-0 at half time and beating the european champions. If I was playing Spain tommorow, I'd have more confidence then I did 2 weeks ago. This has just upped my expectations for next WC, as being less predictable.

The confederations cup is different to the world cup however. Yes, this competition is taken pretty seriously but if it came down to the World Cup, they'd up their game that little bit more. Take Italy for instance, they went out but in the world cup's they always do well.

i don't think brazil will win the world cup next year, they aren't the team they used to be. okay, they're much better at set pieces, but they're no longer the team everyone should fear now.

Yeah but Pirlo, Torres, Villa, Luis Fabiano, Kaka, Xavi and Cannavaro all played in this tournament. I think that showed how serious everyone takes it. It's a dress rehearsal. Only every 4 years do Brazil play teams from Europe competitively and vice-versa. I would've thought it would be a great opportunity to get a game plan going. Also, Lucio was crying at the final whistle as Brazil won the trophy. It seems to mean alot.

Yeah, I think they caught everyone out this tournament. No one expected a Brazil like that. Hopefully, this gives everyone a chance to prepare for the Brazil we saw this tournament and not the "sexy football" Brazil of the past.
