Default Should Spam have an age limit?

Spam is probably like the one forum full of rulebreakers and that, I mean like theres tonsss of them, all posting lovely words which wouldn't be acceptable to certain audiences like children. HabboxForum (I am guessing) has the same target audience as Habbo Hotel which is 11+. Would it be acceptable to put an age limit on the Spam forum so that users under a certain age cannot view it?

I would also say this would be a good idea as Spam is just one of those forums where kids will get ripped to shreds, its full of dirty jokes and the sense of humour is more adult than most of the forum. I know the forum moderators are there for a reason, to protect users and such but I do think to save time and effort, wouldn't it just be easier to put an age limit on Spam so that an older audience can use it? It's not my place to say what sort of age limit should be placed on it, however I think it'd be easier to have fun in the Spam Forum with the current users that are in it, since they're all pretty old (like probs over 14 tops). The stuff you learn between 11 & 14 is pretty big too, just my two cents on that, if you wanna disagree you can do.

But even then if it was a good idea, I'm not sure it can be implemented on the forum. I do think it'd solve alot more problems than create them, buttt I guess its up to youuu to think about it. Just putting the idea out there.

EDIT: Oh cripe I forgot to put a poll up, if a moderator could do that for me that'd be great, thanks

It's not just spam where the sense of humour etc occurs, teens forums also happen to draw in this sort of banter.

Yes spam does contain a lot of rulebreaking but it's nothing that doesn't get dealt with pretty quickly by forum moderators.

I think it would be unfair to restrict younger members from spam, its their choice whether to read threads or post in them - we aren't parents.

In terms of adult content this is also included in the teens forum, as a moderator I moderate using the Sex Talk Regulations that were drawn up (by myself) for the Teen/Relationship/Health forums and I include these rules when moderating sexual content in spam.

At the end of the day people should just stick to the rules & I believe your answer to the problem would be the forum allowing people to break the rules we stand by.

An age limit would be harder to enforce than just allowing moderators to deal with issues in the forum. Although it may be a bit more relaxed in the forum, moderators don't let it get out of control or go too far. Rules still apply as they do forumwide and the rules are there to protect people of all ages.

You'll simply get people lying about their age to get around it as we can't ask for ID or proof of their age - and if we can, again, it would be more time consuming and more problematic than just allowing those of all ages to view it.

No, it would be impossible to enforce.

What about a minimum time of being registered before you can view the Spam forum? e.g. 6 months, not too long but not too short, so that the user can fully appreciate the forum and it'll keep out determined trolls as well who just post 15 times and then troll the forum.

    That might work.

Or you could just come out and say that you won't it to be a private golf club. Why would being on the forum 6 months change anything?

Its not impossible to restrict it to an age limit but people could just change or sign up with different ages to access the restricted forums. I dont see the point we have been okay up to now, maybe just a simple red warning like other forums do have in their descriptions would be sufficient?
