WIP ~ The portfolio type layout bandwagon

I decided to jump right onto the "portfolio" styled layout bandwagon. I know I'm not the worlds greatest designer, but here is what I have so far.

The layouts colours axtually extend 100% width across the page, it's just my screenshot that makes it look weird. Also, I am thinking about replacing the navigation text with images and hover over images with a glow, or whatever.

Stroke on logo is duff but the colour scheme is brilliant. The text also seems quite big.

Colour scheme is nice, you really need to think about the font and font sizes....

Sorry for the double post (time limit has expired). I just wanted to bring people an update. I have re-done the logo without the white 1px stroke. I think it looks better and I want to know what you think;

It's just the image of the logo on its own, also, there is text underneath the logo but you can't see it. Don't worry about that

The changes in this WIP (2) include;

1. New logo
2. New global font
3. Past work area concept(?)
4. Footer area
5. Footer colour(?)
6. Cross browser coding and validation of xhtml and css

(?) Indicates what I am unsure of if it works or not with the layout. I'll wait for your opinions. Thanks. Tom.
