It has to meet a lot of criteria as well as being themed nicely, the symmetry isn't exactly the top priority, then again we aren't exactly posting it in cool rooms.Thats a very simplistic answer, I feel. I think the room is okay but if posted in the Cool Rooms section for a R & S would only get 6/10 at the most. It looks unfinished & there is no symmetry. The choice of furni is random and the colours don't blend. It may only be a room but it represents Habbox and on this occasion I disagree with Sammeth and the change which is not for the better.
Maybe it would have been nice to acknowledge we actually did listen and we actually did make a change rather than going straight into all the negatives. I posted a feedback thread, you all gave feedback, I didn't moan about the feedback, I took it and made a change. I don't know what you're getting at there.I think it's kind of rude and egotistical to say that simply because we don't like your layout it means we're ungrateful or never happy. I mean what do you expect us to say? "Oh we're so blessed he actually changed it". You posted a feedback thread so don't moan when we give actual feedback.
Second of all, you should take in other people's ideas. I know furni can be a bit tight but I bet you wouldn't be short on donations if you asked. I think you should take ideas from this thread on board and put your pride aside because quite frankly, you may own the room but its the people who visit that count. It's the equivalent of McDonalds releasing a McPoo Burger and everyone saying how gross it is but McDonalds love it so they keep it and lose money.
The new layout is a bit McPoo. It can be improved with a few modifications. Hardly asking the world!
This hasn't damaged my "pride" one bit, and it doesn't play that much of a part in why Im defending the desk. I'm just defending the fact that we've made such an effort since getting the feedback I requested, yet it goes ignored and even more negatives come out of it. Its quite frustrating. I actually don't really care that much about how the room looks, its just a pixelated room, I won't lose sleep over it. Next time we'll just let you guys design it and do a poll or something, saves us a lot of hassle.
This room is poo, the old room was poo, and I'm sure all rooms in the future will be poo as no one on this forum is ever overly happy with the things we provide.
I'm not taking it personally, I'm just defending the department. I didn't actually do all the layout so its hardly my baby.I wouldn't take it so personally. I know how you feel though when you design a room you really like and then people slate it.
If people don't like the layout then they'll stop coming to the room, their loss your gain.
I think it's good that you update it and go with the seasons. I think a lot of help desks will follow after this, they did with the exec furni.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with for autumn and the Christmas period+rep for the room
Too much hassle than its worth! As I said, we'll let you guys submit a layout, have a poll and then we'll just keep it as that. No point in changing it up as all it does is provoke the argument of cheapness (pixel graphics these days!) or being distasteful or not listening to what the public want.
Sammeth.
close hxhd then. you make it sound as if you're doing us a favour, when you're not. it's your job. if you don't want to do it then you could be replaced in a matter of minutes (as help desk owner that is). i really couldn't give one but when the owner doesn't even care then who do you expect to. i've always thought the managers should own the room. i don't want to hear the trust argument, if you trust them to be a habbox manager then you trust them to own "a pixelated room you won't lose any sleep over"

edited post. because you make it sounds like it's so much hard work to please people (when it's your job). if people are never going to be happy about the layout like you make out and it's always going to have such a negative mentality then everyone should be put of their supposed misery and close the god damn desk. because it's so much hassle, of course.
If it were up to me someone else would own it, trust me. I consider it to be a hassle, so would gladly hand over ownership to the manager. Though its not always about trust, its about longevity and whether letting a manager own it would be worth it changing hands so often. In my experience people are never pleased with layouts. They hated the one nvrspk4 had, yet when about 4 months down the line everyone wanted it back. It just keeps repeating itself. I've already said I'll let the public design it next time, and then put it to a poll, as that way surely the one that will win the majority will like and hopefully it will cut down the hassle. Sounds like a pretty sensible solution to me.edited post. because you make it sounds like it's so much hard work to please people (when it's your job). if people are never going to be happy about the layout like you make out and it's always going to have such a negative mentality then everyone should be put of their supposed misery and close the god damn desk. because it's so much hassle, of course.

There has already been 2 people design and post it.. I don't see why it couldn't be turned into an official competition every few months. Post the announcement a few weeks in advance and give them a few days to design and send.If it were up to me someone else would own it, trust me. Although I was only a visitor at the time, people LOVED DJ-3000 layouts. He is still spoken about today. In fact, I *think* he was mentioned within this thread itself. He hasn't been staff for YEARS yet still actively mentioned every single time the layout of the desk is mentioned. Therefore, it's evident that a suitable and an attractive layout can be produced. If it were up to me someone else would own it, trust me. I don't even really agree with the limited furniture argument. Habbox is the biggest UK fansite and if it wanted it could have numerous rare donations. I have no doubt your counter argument will be along the lines of "they can be used for better things". However, HxHD was only kept open because it's supposedly a fundamental part of Habbox thus it's hugely important. I'd rather see less in the HxSS and more put towards HxHD because at the end of the day HxHD is there to stay. HxSS is a temporaray thing.
