A Forum for name change announcements?

Nah only staff name changes are. A lot of user name changes are because they want a little bit of a new start (before someone catches them out again) or to avoid bullying etc.

And you can't argue with me on that one because I was in charge of name changes for the longest time so I know from experience

Exactly, so why is Yosh on about hiding name changes!? They are posted no matter what...

I am not referring to hiding anything! I suppose i could have sad nobody cares whether they get an announcement to say they have become Tom from originally **** onto Harry. It was more of a means of not being necessary.

Fair enough.

Erm announcements is mostly name changes and staff promotions/demotions/firings/hirings. So announcements is Staff Changes + Big things.

Although I guess it could be seperated but four forums for announcements?

Maybe if there was a section for user name changes, when a name change happens, the user is asked whether they wish to keep it private or not. If they say no, then it can be published in the name change forum.

Unless this would just create a lot of extra work for whoever does name changes, then just leave it to the user to publicise it themselves, as has been said .

I think it'd be a significant amount of work, I can speak only for myself but I used to dread doing name changes because of the things I had to update, although part of that, the list of VIPs thread is no longer active so its a little bit better

However having Community Announcements under there would sort of rend the seperation pointless, cos it'd bump the more important announcements which is why we seperated it in the first place

But that doesn't really change much cus the name change announcements will technically still appear in the same forum, just sectioned off a teensy bit.
