Join it, then in Windows goto Start > Run > CMD type "ipconfig" and find the gateway IP, there is your router's IP, go to it and just set the WEP/WPA key

Ahh ok, if there is a reset switch on the back of the router, hold it in for 10 seconds or so.

On the bottom of the router there should be a thing to reset it to factory settings. Prod it with a sharp pencil and it should do it.

But don't you have to plug the computer into the wireless box to rest it and do the settings?

You can reset it that way or you can do it by going into the router settings (Except you're locked out from these). To set it up again you will need a computer.

On some routers they come with a password set, look on the bottom of the router to see if there is some login info there.

For example mine was set by default to: ''Virgin'' ''Password''

Some Netgear routers are set to ''Admin''/''Administrator'' ''Password''

BT set theirs to a random string I think....

BT don't have a default password, it tells you to set it up on the HomeHub when you first set it up.

If it's a Belkin which you purchased yourself then when you go to the address when it asks for the password just press submit (if it is still at default).
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.
