There is a Sports forum for a reason

People were complaining it's too general in the sports forum the other week, random threads about random sports & in that thread these stickies were mentioned as a good thing.

For all we know the next few members that sign up to the forum could be MotoGP fans?

It wasn't doing anybody ANY harm when it was stuck and you're just going on now for the sake of it.
You just contradicted yourself there? How can it not be spanish and be global.

Anyway like josh said it will still be open to post in unless it goes inactive for two weeks which shouldn't be a problem since you insist it's an active part of the sports section.

Threads get stuck for a reason. They were either helping users E.g: Guides or Useful information. Other threads got stuck if they were popular. Example: Post Your Desktop Thread. If you can prove that the MotoGP one is needed and you can keep it active (when there is news and when they come back "off" holiday) then great and we will see if it needs to be stuck or not. Even Adam (who is a MotoGP fan) said it was no harm in unsticking it because of the few users who do post in the thread.

    Adam:
Right, I have no problem with it being unstuck, we can keep it alive, but if we do get a few more people, which is unlikely, then there could be a possibility of it being stuck again? While it's summer break there wouldn't of been any posting anyway.

Just cos it's unstuck don't mean you can't keep posting in it. Many threads have long discussions in for ages without being stuck..

And we can't "keep digging it up" as there is a double posting rule - which doesn't apply in our stickied thread so that's beneficial.

I don't add people from online on my msn - so why should I start just because we can't discuss it in a sticky?

There is need for that sticky & we shouldn't be discriminated against because there aren't many of us :S

It's nice to be able to discuss it with people. There was NO need for it to be unstuck.

@ Rosie - that's the point, if I create a thread with race results adam or luke or thewolf then have to search for it if they come online a few hours later. It's not causing anybody ANY harm.
If you're thinking it should be stickied because you can double post and bump it then that shows it isn't popular at all and shouldn't be stickied for that reason:S. It's not as though they're taking your thread away or telling you you can't post in it

I don't think that's true at all, even though it does no harm having numerous stickies (other than clogging up the forum) it's not fair some threads get unstickied whereas others doesn't, especially not when there's very few posters & posts in the moto gp one

You can double post if you're adding new info and you can always make a new thread .

And yes, you can be discriminated against for there being less of you, just because there's one person who wants a sticky thread does not mean it should be so.

    EDIT@Jordy ~ Well said.
I was about to say to Jordy that it's a bit unfair to basically kick people off the forum to have perfectly normal discussions else where, but then a moderator suggesting the same thing? Quite frankly I'm shocked. I can't imagine Nvr or Jin approving of that too much (I'm suprised Matt wasn't bothered either ). At least suggest conversation via visitor messages on the forum!

Anyway, I have some simpathy for ye MotoGP fans but to be fair, as has been said, a sticky is a thread that provides a specific service (like a guide) or is extremely popular and active. A thread about a very general topic basically for two people is hardly a casue for one .

Make a sub-forum for the sticky threads

Exscuse me, I'm fine with it being unstuck, we'll just keep it alive, tbh, it's only me and oli so it doesn't matter.

MotoGP is a refined subject and because of it being so, it doesn't have the audience it deserves. This being reflected in the forum, it doesn't right to be stickied, so we'll just keep it alive instead.
