:wtc: why are you using php for sockets don't even. With the amount of time this has been in development you would have thought you could have got a Java server up.

The PHP socket server is, at the moment, not a permanent measure. Whilst we are developing the flash we are using a php socket server as it is the easiest language to develop in and make modifications. However, we may continue to use clustered PHP in the future once the site is built.

People who say don't use PHP for sockets; its too slow obviously are not developing the PHP correctly. We do know the limitations of PHP and how scaleable it is and should Zetolic reach a point where PHP is no longer a viable option then we shall re-develop in a language which suits us. JAVA / Perl / Python or maybe even C.

One of the limitations at the moment is non movement.

We have had a couple of DNS issues of the last few days. Our web servers - MYSQL servers and socket servers are clustered enhancing our issues. We think we now have it perfect.

We are using a series of VPS's and Dedicated servers at the moment all with different suppliers so dependant on your location you may reach a server based in a different country.

I hope this illustrates how seriously we are taking Zetolic and that an MMOCC does require a good investment and a large amount of know how. Any questions, do ask.

zetolic.com uses remote DNS server from the data center and zetolic.co.uk uses our own DNS and sends you to the closest web server.

Could you please ping zetolic.com and zetolic.co.uk and post the IP's the dns server responds with. Being in wales it should return you 87.106.106.5.

Ye site is down.. not really good considering its a Alpha.. you should atleast be able to have a working homepage which tells us that the client is offline..
