    WOOOP WOOOP!

I predicted 2-1 to England in the first page of this thread and I'm pretty proud of them tbh.

Strauss got England man of the series - very well deserved in my opinion. We've had some very low points this summer and Andrew pulled us together, even if he did do it on his own like at Edgebaston?? when he got 161 runs

Michael Clark got Austalia man of the series for "his batting" as the chairman of england team said

I think on the whole England did deserve to win more than Australia

Australia put up a brilliant fight today and they played very well throughout most of the series but alas, the best team always wins.

I think Australias stupity of run outs cost them the game. They have been too defensive this series which isnt good.

Well done to England, however Strauss comment on England possibly being the best team in the world soon is a bit unlikely any time soon. I think the current best is South Africa, followed by India then Australia, New Zealand, England, West Indies, Pakistan, Bangladesh.

Cant wait till the ICC Championship 2009 next month.

The Ashes trophy was much much smaller than I expected.

Anyway, I honestly think I would have more respect for the English team if they didn't use Australia's ex-coach.

I don't get why a team would have two run-outs in the final innings of a test they can't lost. They just needed to stay there and not run. The runs would come down bit by bit. The game wasn't going to finish a draw because if Australia had batted for 2 days they would have reached the target. Stupid why Australia had 2 run-outs. If you have any doubt that you can't make it, don't run because you don't need to.

Exactly. In test matches they should never take the risk of run outs, especially when they cannot afford to lose wickets.

Well done England! well deserved win. Strauss, Swann, and Broad are the way forward, along with KP obviously.

May I suggest to MODs, to keep this thread stickied, to make it the Ashes TOUR, which would extend it so it covered the ODIs and T20s?
