Default Help with buying a computer [+rep]

    Hey,

I need to get my orders in for christmas, and i want a desktop pc.

I'll be honest, I don't have a clue what parts to buy, so if anybody could put together the best gaming computer you could on ebuyer (including case and monitor) for £500 (or less ) then i'll rep you.

    Thanks alot

Do you want a custom built gaming PC? Or prebuilt?

Just wondering if you want to assemble it yourself.

    superhappy.

This slightly tops your buget. But I like it for a gaming PC. I am guessing you want games like CS?

There are many people on here just as competent at recommending parts as those on the Ebuyer forums. Plus on here parts may be from a selection of different stores meaning slightly cheaper overall cost and possibly parts that Ebuyer don't stock, whereas the guys on Ebuyer forum are likely to recommend only parts from there.

Ebuyer has such a wide variety of parts, it's likely that you can source the parts (if cheaper) elsewhere.

I'm not saying that people on here arnt capable, but it's just that over at ebuyer that's all they do and nothing else, they specialise in it.

Whichever is best for the price, my dads friend will build it for them.

Stick to Nvidia Graphics cards, SLI up if you can afford it. Sick ass monitor is a must. Mines "34 which is sexy for gaming (and watching americas next top model which im doing now) Decent peripherals can be hitting £200 alone

    my setup:

    Logitech g15 (£90)
    Razer Lacheis (£55)
    Razer eXactMat (£20)
    34" Samsung monitor (£300)
    Microsoft Lifechat Headset (£40)

    Case (£80)
Dual SLI Nvidia Geforce 9200 (£100 each)
    Storm 700wt PSU (£90)
Basic motherboard, Idk what it was.
    6gb kingston ram (£40 per 2gig)
A couple of fans. (about £5 each)

Obviosuly this is up to scratch, way too much than needed but im preparing for the future while i can afford it. Good stuff.

    Ebuyer/Overclockers.co.uk is good too
    Play.com for peripherals
    Crucial.com(maybe .co.uk) for RAM

But if you have a asian run type computer store near you, thats usually cheaper.

    Hope i helped.
