I like how some of the England supporters suddenly start going on about the Ashes again. Australia won the cup and they deserve it. Some of the English fans just cant face the truth like you and TheWolf.

And when you mention the Ashes, why do you fail to mention the 6-1 ODI series? :S You just pick out the ones where England won.

And the Ashes win wasn't even like WOWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You won mainly thanks to the rain.

I like how your argument centrals around the weather. I'll give you a tip - the weather supports neither side. Both sides have to deal with the same weather so it is not a positive nor negative factor for either sides. That argument is flawed.

If it wasn't for the rain on the first match, Australia would have won ... easily. Go check the score card.

Anyway ICC Champions Trophy has nothing to do with the Ashes so why people are bringing it up, I don't know, maybe they are jealous.

I don't care about the Champions Trophy. Ashes and World Cup, all that matters.

And guess what? We won the Ashes. That's what's important. The Ashes. Ashes Ashes Ashes.

    Got that?

You do realise the Champions Trophy is basically a mini world cup?

The Ashes is just a normal series with a name. Its like saying OMG INDIA BEAT AUSTRALIA. THATS ALL MATTERS
INDIA WON THE COMPAQ CUP. THATS ALL MATTERS
INDIA DIDNT WIN THE CHAMPIONS TROPHY, SO THAT DOESNT MATTER. ITS USELESS. KKBYE

You're neither English, nor Australian, so you can't really tell US the English what it feels like to win an Ashes series, you can't say that it means nothing, you have no rite at all, you don't experience the Ashes like the Aussies and the English do, so you can get that out of your head.

CC is NOT a mini version of the world cup, CC means nothing, nothing at all, it's arguably one of the most pointless things in cricket. What you're saying is the equivalent to this in football; 'omg the african cup of nations is like a mini world cup!! it's just as important!!' ~ just no.

    Are you English? No.

I said before this little competition started that the Ashes and the World Cup was all that mattered, and I stand by that now. That's just how it is.

The CT is technically a Minor World Cup, as it's the 8 seeded teams who participate, the top 8 teams, who should in theory get through to every super 8's and semi's in both formats of the World Cup.
It's nothing like the African Nations, as that is not a competition between the top 8 football teams in the world, is it? :rolleyes_
I wouldn't say it's as important, because you can guarantee their will be no anomalies like in the normal world cups, where the associates can cause upsets.
But it's still hugely entertaining, and it's great for someone like me cos they show all statistics more often, keeps me more entertained in a 50-over format

Plus in all honestly, as a true Englishman, I don't see why the Ashes is anymore important than any other series, it's bad for the game because noone then goes to test matches which involve England and another nation, as it's "not as important".
Yeah, they were the first two test teams ever, big whoop. Why shouldn't the Wisden trophy be deemed as important?

PS, to you two slating Saurav for not being English, he has a bigger following, it's called India v Pakistan; the fiercest rivalry in World Cricket. Much bigger than the Ashes
