Well for someone like you that actually reads manga then you should give the manga a try 1st. ive started re-reading it and awesomeness pluss you have the speed up starting next year so by june next year 53 volumes should be out (need more shelf space D: )

Also i would suggest watching some of the movies. Since they tend to cut out flashbacks and standing around and what not just gets straight to the point with the action and humour.

And i know ive said before it gets good around XX point. well i was hooked within ten eps. tho to some might take longer. the first 50 episodes are known as the East Blue Arc. Which is mainly 5-6 smaller arcs piled together to help introduce the members. then you have other arcs afterwards that have more episodes such as skypia had around 80 i think. But they wont matter because the later eps just become entertaining because all the characters are likeable.

Really cant understand why OP isnt as popular as naruto. I know alot of the naruto fanbase comes from america and such but OP is constantly on the top 10 ratings where as naruto and bleach arent. thats why im hoping these speed ups boost One Piece popularity. You wont see anyone who puts as much effort into One Piece >.>
Awesome manga arc atm with lots ot details and double spreads, Recently had a child, and producing and directing the next OP movie.

    Edit: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/0...hic-breakdown/
found this on google, Seen this and its recent. But how can OP be so high but i can hardly find anyone who likes it =/
I don't really have much time to watch anime these days other than at weekends and I'm already watching a handful of weekly series so even though I don't have to wait a week for each episode I'll probably still never catch up. I did download the xith movie which I have been wanting to see, but the subtitles were out of sync so I'm going to have to download it elsewhere. I think I will definitely read the manga eventually, but I don't expect to catch up with that any time soon either. When I said bad parts along the way I was referring to fillers. I know I could just skip them but then thats not watching the anime in its entirety, which is what I like to do. Thats why I'd choose the manga over the anime.

    I'm never buying anime again.

I bought Ghost in Shell standalone complex boxset for £15 (quite cheap), but the subs are completely off. They appear much to late.

This is why downloading is superior.

That's weird, mines pretty much fine. The subtitles are only out of sync for a minute or so in one or two episodes later on in the series. I'm sure Manga will refund you if you contact them though. That is if you bought the Region 2 DVD.
