    Default Drinking at a young age

    I love friday nights so much but I am curious of the health risks. I use to go out and get drunk every weekend but now only get tipsy. At the age of 15/16, is drinking around 5 bottles of Smirnoff ice (or any other drinks adding up to roughly the same units) a week any harm to me whatsoever? I got caught 2 weeks ago and did many things that I regret because I got so drunk. If I was ever to get wasted in like 3/10 weeks then would this do any harm? I think the normal bottles are 1.5 units so thats 7.5 in a night. I know it isn't really much at all but I'm just making sure it is doing no harm to me with me being young.

    Your only really meant to have 0>5 units a week but you can have 6>10 a week without any real serious health implications.
    Its not a good idea just to go out on one day and binge the night away. You may only have like 10 units but having them at one time isnt good for you at all. If you get 'wasted' each week then it could start to have health risks if you carry it on for years but at the moment as your so young I dont see it doing much harm. Just remember not to abuse yourself, you can only take so much before things stop working properly.

    It would be a lot better if you drank small volumes of alcohol over a period of days rather than consuming huge amounts in one night.
    Probably best to take a condom as well. Even though you're male you can still catch an STD

    don't drink puts it across straight, i barely do

    and i thought it was 5 units per night? or atleast thats what the heart risk leaflet i was reading said o_O

    Yeah it's certainly not 0-5 a week. Binging is generally advised against but obviously people do drink to get drunk so binging will happen, you can pretty much balance it out by having a decent diet and exercise properly though. Clearly eating a carrot and going for a run won't solve long term drinking related problems but seeing as how there is literally no point telling teens not to go out drinking it's best to just advise an otherwise healthy lifestyle, it makes sense to do so anyway even if you're not drinking so why not.

    There's the idea that "eating is cheating" as food soaks up alcohol a bit, but it is a good idea to have something first just to line your stomach or you're likely to chuck up, and having dinner isn't going to make you less drunk than you'd usually be by any considerable amount so it's best to be safe with it, unless you enjoy throwing up or something I know some people do. Some people say milk or whatever lines the stomach well but that's up to you, go with whatever works for you

    Ive heard the milk thing too , but personally i wouldnt drink milk before drinking
    i think it would make me wanna puke more (if i was going to)

    5 units a week isnt going to harm you at all
    and getting real drunk every now and then isnt really bad
    you just need to know your limits and makesure you eat before you go out
