My industry is not labour intensive but it requires a high skill level to do the job properly. Yes, the unemployment rate is high but you can't just use immigration as the scapegoat for it.

Say the same about what we wear? :eusa_eh: How could you? We don't exactly go around wearing balaclavas do we? Because that is what they are the equivalent to. Them masks that they wear pretty much are balaclavas, there is no doubt that they are scary, especially to old people and children. In the dark they can be terrifying, they look the same as a man wearing a balaclava who is obviously wearing it for a reason (mugging, murder, robbery etc).


I think for someone as educated as you and someone that could have so much to say in a topic like this, you didn't really do a good job in that post. Nevertheless I will still reply to a few parts of your post.

I wouldn't say offended is the correct word but yes I certainly would not like it. We can manage without the need to speak another language and while it being quite a handy and useful thing to be able to speak a different language I don't think on the bus when many other people are there is the right time. Many people do find it ignorant and think that if they want to live in our country they should speak our language.

You seem quite angry about this and it has made you exaggerate quite a few times. Saying that I might have an extra chromosome somewhere just because I dislike some people from personal experiences is a load of crap. It is understandable for someone to dislike someone or something because of personal experiences, my youth has involved growing up in a place were an ethnic minority is a nuisance and you seem to think that I am crazy for being effected by that.

In fact, I think pretty much all your post is quite a let down, you could of stated your mind in a much better way considering this is a topic you know a lot about.

The whole speaking in a different language thing sort of reminds me of my friend... He's Scottish and when around me and the rest of our friends speaks in an English accent.. however whenever he is at home with his family all of a sudden a Scottish accent comes out of nowhere I guess like someone else said earlier in the thread it's what the person finds more comfortable if two people are talking and they both have a mother tounge which isn't English why should they both have to speak English when it would be easier to speak in the language they know best?

Its fine, I just dislike people who say immigrants (legal) are willing to work for less when they arent. If you have the right skill, like Invent said, you will get the job.

Yes that is very true, like I said, I myself am an imigrant from Russia people tend to think immigrants are people who work for pennies when its not true and its not just about the cash.

Uhm, I'm 17 and I've been given job offers left, right and center (even though I'm not even seeking employment at the moment). If you have the skill (especially if you're in an industry that's in demand) then you will get offered a job. Don't blame immigrants because they can do a job better than someone else that's not an immigrant. That's just being plain prejudice.

Totally correct. I came from Russia to England at the age of 6, not knowing any english at all. I started primary school with a lot of problems with the language. When I was at high school, I was the cleverest in my year & finished with the best GCSE grades out of anyone, lots of As + A*s. So there you go
