    Basic Stats:
    Wireless: N1?

    Wireless Name:
    Belkin N1 Wireless Network

    Estimated wireless distance:
30m ish (rough estimate from when dragging power cables out to get a constant wireless connection without a laptop losing life )

    Wired Devices: 0
    Wireless Devices: 10+

    Key features:
No WEP or anything like that, anyone can join. But seeing as we're in the middle of no where it would be alot of hassle to set it up for no reason

What's with the wireless craze? Hard wired ethernet is much better. I'd much rather 100Mbps ethernet than wireless N even.

I want my desktop hardwired, but I don't think it's going to be possibe due to laying the cable etc.

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

Hmmm, you've got a point... The printer is sitting right next to the router and it could happily get plugged in, and if I wanted to put effort into it, I could put a cable from here to downstairs seeing as I'm right above the router

Is a wired connection generally better than a wireless one in terms of internet? Ethernet and networking isn't too big a deal in this household.
