I'd actually like to change my answer to Florence & The Machine - You've Got The Love.

Oh god no, she has the most horrible voice I've ever heard, and this cover is screechy, annoying and her voice completely ruins it.... I turn it down/off whenever it comes on on the radio :eusa_wall

Aha, I think Florence is a love/hate thing. But she is definitely one of this years biggest break through artists. Her cover is way better than Candi Station version - that one does my head in

Am I right in saying that this is the real original? Because I think there's a couple of club mixes of it too.

I have to admit I do love Alicia Keys Doesn't Mean Anything, and also heard a mash up of it with Bleeding Love which made me love it even more cus I bum Leona.

I think Lady gaga, a lot of her songs were some of my favourites this year and I really like show me love by robin s, it was released ages ago but there was a remix this year that I really loved. I don't really have like a major favourite really.

Yeah it is. No Ones First And Your Next is a mint EP. 'King Rat' and 'I've Got It All (Most)" are my other favourites (though I didn't list them because they've been out for a few years). Really wish Modest Mouse would tour here (or even Australia) sometime, would be awesome to see them live.

These are other favourites of mine for 2009. New Zealand band so most probably won't of heard of them, really good band though.. favourite song by them is Learning to Fall:
