I know it probably does, but I gave it a nine because the first time I watched it, it took quite a few episodes for me to really get interested. Though its the same story for Mushishi and I think thats one of the most perfect anime series ever made. Perhaps I'll boost Bebop's score up, but then the question is do I like it better than Samurai Champloo? I think the finale in Champloo is better but some of the stand alone episodes in Bebop are better than those in Champloo... I think too much.

Thats good news! Now if you can make it to the teens its smooth sailing from there.

Also, its surprising we haven't really picked up on this topic yet. Assuming a lot of you have seen Cowboy Bebop - what do you think of Keanu Reeves (Neo in The Matrix) playing Spike in the live actions movie? Personally I feel he has the height and the build of the character, and with a wig he'd pretty much look spot on. I'm not sure if he'll be able to get Spike's personality exactly right, but I feel Keanu could do a good job. He himself is a huge fan of the anime and he pushed the idea ahead to get the movie made; without him there currently would be no Cowboy Bebop movie in production. The director and animation studio of the anime are working closely with the movie staff so with any luck this could turn out to be a great film.

Not really. The first twenty-ish episodes are lightyears away from the rest seeing as how they're mainly for character introduction and they focus on the amanto a lot to get you familiar with the world. I've been reading the manga and it was even apparent in there. The first five volumes were good, but past that everything else is fantastic.

I just found the first episode incredibly lame and after that good, and better as you go on.

I found the first two episodes bearable, and the following couple good but somewhat lacking then it continues to improve from there. Its funny because if we watched the first two episodes now we would probably like them seeing as how we're familiar with the characters n'all. The main reason I didn't really like the first two episodes was because they showcased every character without you previously knowing about them. It leaves you clueless because theres no real introduction. It's okay to do it in FMA: Brotherhood because we're already familiar with those characters but the first two episodes of Gintama seemed like they belonged somewhere in the middle of the series.
