I've been looking around the forum and I see a need for improvements listed below.

    Thread Colours for Staff
It appears that staff love to use blue and many other colours when creating threads to make them stand out, all that happens is that I go eurrghgh whenever on the Non-habbo dark skin because it's close to impossible to read them. Staff should be encouraged to stick to just black and red and not to bold half the post if they need to use another colour.

    P.C.P.
PCP stands for Praise, Criticism, Praise. The idea is that if you want to give feedback then at the beginning you give praise, then you give constructive criticism and then you give them praise again. I believe this would be a better way to treat new members trying to integrate into sections which rate something which you make. E.g. Habbo Alterations. This would make new members feel welcomed and it makes it so they are more likely to act upon criticism rather than feel attacked. Current members should be encouraged to use this method of providing feedback.

    Unforced registration page
In one of the threads a week or two ago I suggested an idea of an unforced registration page, so for example as a guest you browse 30 pages or so and then you are shown a page encouraging you to register, you can either do so or just skip the screen and go to where ever you were going to in the first place. Management didn't seem to notice this so I thought I would bring it up again.

    Unique HxL DJ user titles
I am not quite sure why this isn't already implemented, Habbox Live DJs instead of having 'Radio DJ' or 'Senior DJ' as their user title should have 'DJ <whatever>' as they're usertitle, this would increase awareness of the HxL DJs, allow people to learn what they're forum name is (Which is often different) and make Habbox seem a little bit more relaxed.

Make events more clear to forum users
The competitions and community notice boards do exist but I don't often visit them. Perhaps there should be a banner displayed next to adverts listing current competitions and events more clearly?

A last observation is the competitions which the Competitions Dept. has started doing. They seem to be improved from the massive quests which were last year but they still need to shorten the time span they run for. However on the plus side they have started making shorter to complete competitions which means people can quickly get back to what they were doing before.

I started leaving my competitions non-coloured and it makes me think of you every time!

Considering that competitions used to run for a month, I think 5 days is more than appropriate for those shorter competitions and the bigger competitions, like the 'Lost Managers' quest, two weeks. I think the closing dates are fair, they leave enough time for those less-than-active users to still maybe catch them but not too long that it just drags on!

As for advertising, I'm sure that Roxy has started bugging the right people to get more advertising for comps and events, including the banners you suggested. Hmm I wonder how this is coming along actually, I'll have to ask her

I think one of the suggestions in another thread was to create competitions which take about 45 seconds to work out and then the first person to PM the answer wins the top prize which isn't much but you could run many of these a day and people could just join into one of these if they spot one.

    For example
Oh dear I seem to have lost the list of staff names:
First to PM me with a list of all the HabboxForum SuperMods can claim their reward of 4 Days VIP in any standard colour they like.
You could run multiple on the same theme in one day creating a longer narrative.

I can't say I've seen this anywhere other than competitions and I think coloured competitions look ugly, but I think Mike has just said he's stopped doing it???

This would be very hard to enforce, I assume you are talking about forums such as GFX and Tech? People tend to moan about the "constructive criticism only" rule as it is Other than that it would be good.

I like this idea, it's just whether it's possible to implement.

I know some DJs already do this however other people tend to call themselves DJs too, so maybe if it was like:

    HxL Staff
    DJ Bob

or something similar, but I do get the point here. In my opinion a DJ's name should be their Habbo name however this isn't my domain

I think Roxy has said she wants to make use of notices etc, so we'll see what comes of this!

I noticed this also, Mike posted a good picture competition earlier but it's open until 14th February, I mean what the hell????? Things like that should be open for a week maximum imo!

I didn't really like this idea. I think the whole "first person wins" thing is a bit unfair. The "picking winners at random" method works fine.

And if that thread says 14th February, that's a mistake but I'm positive I put January.

edit: I did put January, oli, you need to go to specsavers

'Quick competitions, low prize' in my opinion, fairer to.

It's unfair in my opinion, why shouldn't the person who does it first win? Especially if you run multiple per day, it's more fun and seems less of a copout. Random wouldn't be so random if you didn't have stupidly easy questions with endless time to enter. It may as well be randomly picked from the entire forum.

This was something I hated about the old style of comps, simple colours look so much better. (L)

I like the idea of the registration page, would help bring in more members instead of forcing them in like other sites do. I also don't understand why habbox DJs don't have their username as their habbo name..

    Great ideas

Because that would mean that those people offline who may have wanted to take part can't because they're at school/college/work/different timezone etc. Also if you're going to say 'have them at different times' then, this is highly impractical because we also have school/college/work.

The reputation thread has always had colours in it, brandon would be devastated if he had to change it!! :p

I think it's difficult to encourage members to post what we want them to post, it's hard enough stopping people being down right rude to new members.

Some people make habbo names calling themselves DJ-whatever, I know people used to but maybe people don't do it as much anymore.

Even a competition for +rep like the ones members have been doing in the spam forum would work well, however this could be something forum management could run because it's quite simple, and aren't so much "competitions" but just little quickfire quizzes, could work well.
