Motorola Milestone ftw:
It's the second best android phone at the moment.
Only £400 fully unlocked, no carrier has it yet in the UK, only a month til one does probably:

To be fair though, physical keyboards are dead, on screen touch keyboards are much better and fit in the pocket properly. Also the buttons end up being to small, if you like the click or the movement then a few android phones have vibration feedback to tell you that you've typed and it's very nice to use.

With the greatest respect... what in the name of hell are you talking about?! I and most people on the planet would take a physical keyboard over an on screen one any day. I have an ipod touch and a blackberry (old one mind you with a comparatively crap keyboard) and I can type soo much faster on the blackberry, I can't stand on screen keyboards and I know lots of other people can't too. Just look at the success of Blackberry and that cool one from LG that costs nothing and everyone has.Motorola Milestone ftw:

In answer to the OP, the milestone is a very safe bet when it comes out, the palm pre is awesome if you want to pay for the contracts which are horrible, the touch pro 2 that jordy suggested is nice and there's one from samsung which aparently has an awesome keyboard but I don't know if it came out over here. I forget which, ran android afaik.
oh that looks niceMotorola Milestone ftw:

samsung f700
looks nice yeh?
Good phone but IMO you're wrong about physical keyboards, I can type much faster on my G1's physical keyboard than I can on it's onscreen one, or my iPod's onscreen one for that matter. Also whats the first best then?Motorola Milestone ftw:

Doesn't run Android, Maemo or iPhoneOS, therefore not a good phone. LOL
