Gintama

How am I missing out? I just download all of my anime unless the series has been released in the UK and I have a little money at the time to buy it. I'm only going to import Gintama because it's my favourite series and perhaps the one I want to own the most. Hopefully they'll include the specials and extras that were on the Japanese DVDs such as Sa-chan's song, since they're the only things I haven't been able to get hold of yet. Downloading 4gb+ iso files is a bit much.

lol but ya know what i mean. might get into a series but theres only american dvds. what do you do then? and everyone should buy these gintama dvds. If they sell mayb they will get reborn. mate would be happy.

wonder how they will deal with Arc episodes. like.. MANGA just do 13 eps thats it. dosent matter if there was a double episode or not they just stick to the 13 eps. where as Funimation and there OP dvds they added an extra episode to finish of the season.

Episode 28 of Gintama was great. Don't know if anyone remembers it but it's about the head of the Shinsengumi having to go meet with some higher ups following the shinsengumi busting that underground arena. Really funny episode.

i can only remember few things about past eps. But i'll be rewatching through the dvds. thinki i was on ep 110 or something. need to start watching again.

In that case I just wouldn't bother bying the DVDs.

The longest arc in Gintama is only like five episodes.

pfft should suport the series you like by buying the dvds. Also 5 ep arc but what happens if the dvd stops at the 3rd ep? surely you would be a bit annoyed that you have to wait etc.

That is why I am importing Gintama and I would support other series if they would care to release them in my domain. I'm sure distributors don't release DVDs in America with high hopes that the British public such as me and yourself buy them. If they wanted our support then they would release them over here. No British fan should be expected to own a multi-region DVD player and expected to import DVDs from overseas to support a series. I just wait for the Region 2 DVDs or don't buy them at all.

As for the arc query - ADV have never really distributed a long and on-going series before so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Episode 34 was also really funny. It's the one where Shinpachi meets the girl with the cat ears on the train and they go on a date after he asks for advice on an online forum... really funny episode, in particular the bit when he's on the forum, but also the rest of the episode.
