Comparing this to adverts saying THIS MOVIE IS COMING SOON is just silly :S

You take the forum name too literally. In spam, I demand there is a rule that only Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages can be posted such as ginregojrgv. Not actual threads which prompt discussion, how dare they be placed in Spam :rolleyes:

The forum is there for Site Reviews. I can just post 10 threads going "Site coming soon" with no previews, no details. Just a link.

Its pointless spam.

I don't care much for generating 'support' pre-launch. It's annoying to trawl through a section of splash pages.

Pre-launch buzz just isn't necessary, and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Launch a site, then promote and build users. At least that way there will be less chance of any catastrophic ****-ups.

Either way, it would be nice for forum management to decide whether Jake's flawed advertising analogy holds true or not. Showing off implies there is something in existence to show off. And yeah, maybe I'm taking a literal interpretation... but I will continue to do so until forum management clear it up.

It isn't purposeful. You should know full well that things don't always go to plan. Can you link me to some recent threads (in the last month) which have said site coming soon and not explained what the site will be in said forum.

I can make 10 threads now, just say 1 line about it and thats it. Its spam. Nothing else. If they open the site, advertise it then, then if people like it they will join. You cant join a maintenance page can you? And most of them are just typical habbo fansites ...
