Do you think the world will end in 2012?

What does the Bible say on the subject? I've never heard of a specified time but as far as I now it says that the next time God punishes us (the last time being the Great Flood), it's supposed to be by fire. Not sure how that could happen unless the Sun's gravitational force drags us straight into it, or all the world's volcanoes erupt simultaneously

also scientists have proven that this will not happen and if it was to happen, volcanoes, floods and earthquakes could not happen at the same time as it is not possible, the film has just blown a rumour wayyyyy out of proportion and if it was real they would'nt actually make a film on it would they really? also.. there is no biblical proof that the world will end on 2012.:rolleyes:

Meh, most biblical end of world stories are a bit dodgy. The rapture is one of them, it contradicts other bible teachings (strangers are more welcome than Christians etc etc).

1. No-one can predict the longevity of our world with all of its technological dependencies.
2. The "galactic alignment" predicted by Jenkins already happened in 1998.
3. Geomagnetic reversals take up to 5,000 years to complete and a specific date can't be named.
4. Prophecies predicted that George W. Bush would be assassinated, the world would end in 1999, between 2000-2001 there would be a pole shift that would cause flooding and earthquakes and the list can go on forever.

Personally, I don't think the world will end. If the Mayans were so wonderful, why are they all dead? There are so many reasons why nothing will happen in 2012. Besides, if you think the world will end stop panicking and live your life. You could die any moment. It's not as if the world ending will leave you trapped in nothingness with Jedward (thankfully). You'll just die. I think people should stop worrying because nobody can stop the end of the world and it is inevitable.

Exactly ^ Pretty much as far back as I can remember through my life, the world has been complaining about the state it is in, what we're doing to it, and so on. At the end of the day we may as well just try and make the most of whatever life we have because worrying about the end can do nothing to prevent or even delay it so why should we waste our lives like that?
