No not really Skype = Free.

And vent = on 24/7 not having to have a call or invite people into a call

Everyone can join when they feel like it, the appropriate people have rights to kick people off the server not just like kicking people because you have a grudge with them due to you starting the call etc.

Vent would be much better, and there are alot of free servers which you can ask the owners to make you a channel so you wouldnt have to pay anyways.
