And how old are you? Habbox is a fansite, not a company thus it does not need to be organized nor professional to a extent.

How about a unfilter but a rule saying swearing may ony be used in context? Like you couldn't spam a post saying (unfiltered the words as an example): fu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*kfu*k

I understand that, and I don't see why the argument on managements side is it is unpleasant? The rule for 'Do not be rude to other forum members' would still be there - so swearing at someone would just get the same punishment?

well filtering the word **** is way too far because when i post now i think is this word going to get me warned etc for avoiding the filter. I mean the main swear words should be filtered you all know what they are but really some of them that aren't allowed people at 11 would say depening on where you're from.

There is no option to do this. =] Interestingly 90% of the posts on this forum don't have any **** in them at all. Last night there was 110 active members on when I was so you would have thought if some of them were strongly in favour they would have posted? Nobody is stopping anybody expressing themselves with LMAO, OMG & WTH? with !!!! to emphasise them further if they want to or just using the words that are filtered.

No that's it, Garion and I just sit back and don't care about our staff or the environment they work in

To an extent we do need to be organised and professional, i.e. you don't see Jin turning the forums off everytime there's a bit of drama. However I don't believe this is a valid argument in terms of the filter, it's not unprofessional or unorganised, just unpleasent and unnecessary.

If a word is filtered how would you get warned for it unless you deliberately tried to avoid the filter? I'm guessing you are referring to the word shiz, this word was never allowed and people were getting aprehended for saying it, so we decided to filter it so stop this? I fail to see why you should worry about using a word if it is filtered? Surely if you know it's filtered you should feel better using it knowing there's no uncertainty about getting into trouble over it?

At the end of the day you don't need to swear and if you do want to swear you are more than welcome to, it will just replace your word with *'s. There's nothing stopping you swearing, and the filter is not really a hinderance and doesn't really need changing, although of course we will go over all filtered words every now and then and see if there are any we can unfilter and allow.

People can argue with us until you go blue in the face, this decision won't change and this is not just the view of myself and Garion, infact this is out of our hands. Both Sam and Jin are for the filter as it is and there have been many threads of this kind in the past and all have had the same response.

We have explained the situation, the filter is not going to be changing any time in the near future and nothing anybody will say will change this decision (as the past has proved).

    WTH?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yeh turning filter on n off would be nice option if there was a plugin for it as the kiddies who don't like swearing won't have to put up with the big bad words of the real world, and the people who aren't 10 years old can see the swearing

I don't really see the point in swearing, especially on this forum. It's quite uncommon seeing **** (stars) plotted around and not really necessarily needed. Heck, I use 18+ forums (that could look dodgy) and they don't swear as much as you would expect.

I'm sure everyone is aware of my stance on abbreviations - they're commonly used on the internet, they are not rude and they do not break a mass of forum rules, other than slightly breaking the rule about avoiding the filter (big whoop is all I say, but some people do like to pettifogg!) - even though there are words allowed which directly break the filter
