On Habbo you can turn the filter off, so nothing (apart from phone numbers) is filtered if you turn it off.

But as said many times, we are not habbo and we are very different to Habbo.

@ Matt, it's not that we won't implement it because it's dangerous, just because General Management are happy with the filter and don't want to disable it (partially or completely). As said many times, it would also cause moderation issues.

Not what I was getting at at all. I know we're not habbo, but the users of this forum have come from habbo so the rules should be as strict or less than. It makes no sense to have stricter rules than the place that you get your users from.

What I was gettin at was, yes habbo have a filter that you can turn on and off, but, are abreviations filtered? Even when the filters on? If you're allowed to say wtf etc without it getting filtered on habbo, I fail to see why you can't on here. Give me one good reason why this isnt sounding completely stupid..

As said before, the moment something is posted on Habbox Forum it remains there for as long as the forum exists.

On Habbo it's there for 30 seconds, it's completely different. The Habbo filter is still in place on the guestbooks/forums, just not on the client

Not really, when you can print screen, drag the convo down and read what's been said. Or flooders repeating the words over and over, let alone on Habbo stickers/homepages

Stickers and homepages have the filter enabled permanently.

No matter what argument you present, the swearing on the client is temporary, if a user decides to take a screenshot thats their own personal choice for their private use. HabboxForum is for everyone.

A lot of abbreviations are filtered on Habbo, however they are quite inconsistent with it, as there are a couple that seemed to have passed through the net.

I don't really think we need to copy their filtering system anyway.

Last week a few select abreviations were unfiltered/allowed, and then people started complaining that others should be allowed too, and it's that which makes it impossible to get to a happy medium, therefore it was decided that they would be refiltered to stop people moaning.

As others have said, the posts on the forum are viewed by a LOT more people than in a Habbo room, and will be present for an extremely long time. It lowers the tone considerably, and I don't really see why people need to see the swearing when the *****'s do the job for them of filtering it.

Didn't you read what I'd put? I honestly havnt ben on habbo for ages so I don't know if abreviations are filtered or not. If not, then like you said, (which you can't go back on now.) they remain on guestbooks and forums forever.

Also, bit stupid you can say: what the ****

    But you can't say wtf

the argument about people will ask what the f is, won't they ask what the *s are ...

At bolt; which ones aren't filtered?

I'm not gonna make a massive post on this situation as most people have already summed up what I would say, namely Garion, Oli, FlyingJesus and Catzsy.

Theres really no need for Gender Forums or an 18+ forum. If anything it makes everything look more messy and way more immature, having to discriminate between genders and age. Its not exactly a professional outlook on how to solve an issue, which isn't really an issue at all. It just arises out of people wanting to swear for whatever reason they feel they need to.
