Right so Linux most definitely going.
Keeping Windows & Apple, and all other OS's can be discussed in the main forum.
Does that sound good? Or would rather prefixes?
Obviously all subject to discussion with Garion.

The last Windows section post was three days ago. Perhaps having a [Windows], [OS X] prefix, and then a Portable devices (Phones, iPods and others) section and nothing else would work nicely.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
Not a great fan of prefixes.

I think will work. I still think apple should remain seperate, but windows is already posted in the main tech section anyway and unless they specifically specify windows in their post it's hard to justify moving them.
Ex-janitor. Might pop in from time to time, otherwise you can grab all my information from http://jamesy.me.uk/
That would be ideal, though I'm sure we would get people saying it's not fair that Apple gets a section and Windows doesn'tNot a great fan of prefixes.

First of all there is that and it'll confuse people. Second of all, there is already a number of PC vs Mac debates, these are inevitable no matter what the sub-forums and will always go on in a Technology forum.
If it makes it clear in the Portable Devices description that it caters for iPods, iPads and iPhones (as well as other MP3 players, mobile phones and tablets) then I'm sure that'll be fine. And the few iMac and MacBook threads can just be made in Technology Discussion.

I agree, I don't see why iPods and iPhones cannot be discussed within the portable devices forum.First of all there is that and it'll confuse people. Agree with thisScrap all the sub-forums apart from the Portable Devices one. Prefixes aren't needed, most forum subjects give away what the thread is about anyway (unless it's really such a bother when a forum title doesn't give away what it's about and you have to waste 5 seconds of your life to navigate out of there, pronto?)

I think I'm feeling the get rid of all the subforums apart from Portable Devices vibe (sorry Jamesy).
I think it would be a lot better if iPod and iPhone threads were in Portable devices as this then groups all portable devices together and I do see the need to separate portable devices.
I also agree with GommeInc that we can avoid prefixes as thread titles should give the topic away, not a huge fan of prefixes myself.

PC vs. Mac vs. Linux arguments will always exist anyway, it's one opinion vs. another - most of the time they're healthy anyway. You can't block the inevitable![]()

I agree with scrapping all the subforums and keeping the portable devices forum![]()
